Lasagna Soup with Maudite Beer

meal made with the famous Maudite. A recipe that is sure to please!

- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 large carrots, halved lengthwise, thinly sliced
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- Olive oil
- 500 g ground pork
- 1 tbsp. Italian spices
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 can (796 ml) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (796 ml) crushed tomatoes
- 5 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup Maudite beer by Unibroue
- 1/4 cup of tomato paste
- 1 tsp. of sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup grated mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
Steps
- In a large saucepan heated over medium heat, add onion, garlic, carrots and celery, and drizzle with olive oil.
- Cook and stir for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Add pork and spices; season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
- Cook for 5 minutes, breaking the meat into small pieces.
- Except for the cheese, add the remaining ingredients, season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes or until pasta is cooked.
- Remove from heat, add cheese and stir for a few minutes until melted.
- Add a little chicken broth to adjust the consistency if necessary.
